The New York Mets drop a 5-3 decision to the Philadelphia Phillies at Connie Mack Stadium.

The Phillies score two runs in the second and two more in the third inning off starter Al Jackson. The loss drops Jackson’s season record to 5-14 and the team’s record to 33-70.
