Podcast: Mets-Giants (06.03.1962)

On the first weekend in June 1962,  the New York Mets hosted the San Francisco Giants at The Polo Grounds for a three-game series. The games also marked the return of Willie Mays to New York for the first time since the Giants franchise left for San Francisco after the 1957 season.

Mays came up in the fifth inning with one out and one on and blasted a home run off Mets ace Roger Craig. The Giants went on to beat the Mets, 6-1, sweeping the three-game series at The Polo Grounds.

Mays went went 5-for-15 with a home run in each game.
